Bishop Michael of Nora (Sardinia, Italy)

His Eminence, Bishop Michael of Nora was born in 1933, in Cagliari, Sardinia.

A former Roman Catholic, Bishop Michael studied theology in Italy, where he converted to Orthodoxy in 1966, and was Ordained a Presbyter in 1984.

His Eminence was Consecrated Assistant Bishop to the Metropolitan of Sardinia on 26 April 1993 (Old Style). On 30 September 1995 (Old Style), he was elected first Bishop of the newly-established Diocese of Nora. His jurisdiction encompasses the entire island of Sardinia, with the exception of the city of Marrubiu.
